Grief is individual and unique. As every relationship is unique, so are the feelings and thoughts each person will have about the relationship that has been altered by the loss.
Loss touches us all and it can safely be said that 100% of us are grievers. The Grief Recovery Method® provides the correct action choices that help people move beyond the pain caused by loss. Whether in a group or individual setting, the program creates a safeenvironment where you are invited to:•examine old beliefs about dealing with loss•explore losses that have affected your life•take new actions which lead to completion of the pain attached to one of those lossesRecovery from loss is accomplished by discovering and completing all of the undeliveredcommunications that accrue in relationships. We are all advised to “Let go,” and “Move on” afterlosses of all kinds. Most of us would do that if we knew how. Completion of pain caused by loss is what allows us to let go and move on. It is almost impossible to move on without first takinga series of actions that lead to completion.Letting go of the pain of loss does not mean letting go of the relationship.Grief support groupsThe group offers a safe and supportive environment where grievers can relate to thelife-altering impact of loss. Whether from death, divorce, retirement, financial changes, loss ofhealth, moving, and many other forms of loss, the group setting provides encouragement, understanding and a non-judgmental space where confidentiality is respected for all present. The Grief Recovery Method®: Grief Support Group is not an occasional drop-in group. Six myths about grief•Time heals all wounds•Grieve alone•Be strong•Don’t feel bad•Replace the loss•Keep busyWhile grief is normal and natural, most of the information passed on within our society about dealing with grief is not normal, natural, or helpful.Just looking at the myth that “time heals” creates the idea that a person just has to wait and they will feel better. People have waited 10, 20, 30, and 40 years and didn’t feel better, but found that time can sometimes compound the pain.
