Grief is individual and unique.  As every relationship is unique, so are the feelings and thoughts each person will have about the relationship that has been altered by the loss.
Loss touches us all and it can safely be said that 100% of us are grievers. The Grief Recovery Method® provides the correct action choices that help people move beyond the pain caused by loss.  Whether in a group or individual setting, the program creates a safe environment where you are invited to: examine old beliefs about dealing with loss explore losses that have affected your life take new actions which lead to completion of the pain attached to one of those losses Recovery from loss is accomplished by discovering and completing all of the undelivered communications that accrue in relationships.  We are all advised to “Let go,” and “Move on” after losses of all kinds.  Most of us would do that if we knew how.  Completion of pain caused by loss is what allows us to let go and move on.  It is almost impossible to move on without first taking a series of actions that lead to completion. Letting go of the pain of loss does not mean letting go of the relationship. Grief support groups The group offers a safe and supportive environment where grievers can relate to the life-altering impact of loss.  Whether from death, divorce, retirement, financial changes, loss of health, moving, and many other forms of loss, the group setting provides encouragement, understanding and a non-judgmental space where confidentiality is respected for all present. The Grief Recovery Method®:  Grief Support Group is not an occasional drop-in group.  For the safety and success of all participants, commitment and attendance are essential. It is an affordable, eight-week program consisting of a two hour group per week.  Groups are held in a private, comfortable setting located in downtown Indiana, PA and are led by Melissa Lake, who has been trained and certified by The Grief Recovery Institute®.  To ensure your success within this program, your facilitator has direct access to the founders of the Insitute. Individual grief support This format consists of a weekly one-hour meeting between you, the griever and Grief Recovery Specialist®, Melissa Lake.  This individualized approach involves a seven week format where you will learn and apply the same correct action choices taught in the group format to help you move beyond the pain of your loss. Individual support meetings are held in a comfortable, private office setting in downtown Indiana, PA and offer flexibility in scheduling with personalized attention toward completing the pain caused by loss.
Six myths about grief Time heals all wounds Grieve alone Be strong Don’t feel bad Replace the loss Keep busy While grief is normal and natural, most of the information passed on within our society about dealing with grief is not normal, natural, or helpful. Just looking at the myth that “time heals” creates the idea that a person just has to wait and they will feel better.  People have waited 10, 20, 30, and 40 years and didn’t feel better, but found that time can sometimes compound the pain.
